The word "mandala" means "circle" in Sanskrit. More than a simple shape, the circle represents the cycle of life and humanity, the wholeness and connectedness of all things. Many people use the image of a mandala for meditation and contemplation. Focusing on the center of the mandala allows one to quiet the mind, allowing a meditative state to be achieved.
Why not take a moment, right now, to focus on one of my mandalas that "speaks" to you. Allow yourself to breathe deeply and relax while staring at the center of the image. See where your awareness takes you. And don't forget to enjoy the journey~

I am an aspiring and enthusiastic photographer. Capturing nature is the name of the game for me...usually. But I have been known to drive friends & family a little crazy with my quest for a "perfect" picture. However, I will continue down this path and see where it takes me. I hope you'll join me by enjoying my photographs, and please feel free to comment as much as you like (and don't be shy about sharing my blog with your friends!). Thanks for visiting and come back any time. ~Annie
Beautiful flower!
ReplyDeleteThanks Casey. This was taken in Washington Park near the Rose Garden. I really like these kinds of anemones and have some in my side yard too.
